Check Olmsted Work Release

To find someone released from Olmsted County Work Release Facility on a Dodge County matter, first identify what “work release” means in that person’s record. A work-release assignment can allow structured movement for approved activity while legal custody or supervision continues. It is not automatic proof of final discharge. The controlling court order, placement record, supervising authority, and later completion entry show the person’s actual status. Dodge County and Olmsted County share corrections functions, while state prisoners can also carry a distinct MNDOC work-release status. Matching the agency prevents a county placement from being confused with state prison release.

Olmsted Work Release Outcomes

Olmsted County states that a separate Work Release Facility opened in 2003. Placement there is a structured status. It may occur under a local court and community-corrections plan rather than as an unconditional end to custody. The record must identify who controls the placement, what movement is authorized, and when the person completes or leaves the program.

A later outcome may be discharge to the community, return to more restrictive custody, transfer to another agency, continued probation, or another court-directed status. Do not infer the result from a roster change or from the words “work release” alone. Ask for the original placement and discharge terms. If a new custodian appears, verify that agency before stating that all custody ended.

Important: Work release can permit approved community activity while custody or supervision continues. It is not the same as final discharge.

Confirm Olmsted Work Release

Start with the Dodge case and the agency named in the order. A local work-release placement may be controlled by the court and Dodge & Olmsted County Community Corrections. A state work-release entry, by contrast, may appear in the MNDOC Locator with the exact status “Assigned to Work Release as of.” These routes should not be merged.

  1. Obtain the Dodge case or citation number and read the sentencing, placement, modification, and later review entries.
  2. Identify whether D&O Community Corrections, Olmsted County, MNDOC, or another authority controls the person.
  3. Ask the controlling agency for the current legal status, effective dates, and any public completion or discharge record.
  4. If MNDOC is named, search by Offender ID or name and reproduce the Locator status exactly.
  5. Check any transfer or return-to-custody entry before describing the person as fully released.

The Dodge County released-inmate search path explains how the court, county custody, and state records fit together. Use it when the initial confinement at ADC must also be confirmed.

Olmsted Work Release Contacts

The research did not establish a separate public street address or direct records line for the Work Release Facility. Do not substitute ADC’s address as if it were verified for this program. For a Dodge-connected local placement, begin with the Dodge & Olmsted County Community Corrections contact and the Dodge court file.

Community Corrections is not a public person-search service. Ask only for information the agency may lawfully confirm, and provide the case number when possible. Dodge Court Administration can supply the public order or certified court record. For an MNDOC placement, Central Records is the historical and status-record route.

Olmsted Work Release Status

Work release describes a controlled placement, not a single nationwide level of freedom. The responsible order and agency rules define what the person may do. A person may be allowed to leave for an approved purpose and still be required to return. Another person may be transitioning within a state corrections program. The shared label does not make their legal status identical.

Work release
A structured placement that may permit approved activity outside a facility while legal controls remain.
Probation
A court-ordered community status, often without a state prison commitment.
Supervised release
The community portion of a Minnesota state prison sentence under corrections authority.
Discharge
The formal end of the named agency’s custody or supervision jurisdiction.

Use the precise source phrase. “Assigned to Work Release as of” from MNDOC is not “Under Supervision as of,” and neither phrase alone proves final discharge. For local court placement, quote the court order and the supervising agency’s maintained status.

Dodge Work Release Agencies

D&O Community Corrections provides adult and juvenile probation, pretrial services, intake, intensive supervised release, electronic monitoring, and related programs. It is a two-county operation. Fillmore withdrew from the former three-county arrangement in 2023, so the current name and service structure matter when reading older records.

MNDOC is separate. Its Locator covers adults committed to the Commissioner who remain under DOC jurisdiction. A person assigned to state work release may appear there, while a local Dodge work-release participant who was never committed to DOC may not. No Locator result cannot disprove local placement.

Dodge Work Release Court Record

Search Minnesota Court Records Online by case or citation number. A pending Dodge criminal case may not appear through public defendant-name search before conviction. A failed name search therefore cannot prove that no placement order exists. Use the clerk when a case number is unknown.

Read the sentencing document, warrant of commitment, stay terms, placement order, modification entries, violations, and discharge order as separate events. A court authorization may precede administrative placement. A later revocation may return the person to custody. The court file explains authority, while the operating agency confirms the current physical and program status.

Olmsted Work Release Records

A useful request asks for placement date, legal authority, program status, any return-to-custody or transfer event, completion date, and discharge authority. The agency may classify some supervision details as nonpublic. Ask for segregable public fields and a citation for any withheld data rather than demanding an entire case-management file.

If the work-release stage followed an ADC stay, separately request the adult release date, time, and legal basis under Minnesota Statutes section 13.82, subdivision 2. That ADC departure record answers when one custodian ended. It does not by itself answer whether work-release controls continued. If the person was committed to MNDOC, request the prison/work-release chronology and final discharge from DOC Central Records.

Note: One person can have an ADC exit, work-release placement, supervision start, and final discharge on four different dates.

Olmsted Work Release History

Olmsted’s official facility history says the separate Work Release Facility opened in 2003. That is the supported local fact. The research did not establish a public capacity, release schedule, exit door, property process, or direct public facility contact. Those details should be requested from the responsible agency for the current case rather than guessed.

The broader Dodge arrangement explains why local records can span counties. Sheriff and court contacts are in Mantorville, physical jail confinement can occur in Rochester, and D&O supervision is jointly administered. A reader who checks only one roster may miss the later program status. Following the legal authority from ADC through work release and discharge produces a more accurate timeline.

Olmsted Work Release Timeline

Build the timeline from maintained events rather than one current label. Start with the Dodge court’s sentence or placement authority. Add the ADC release or transfer timestamp if the person moved from physical jail confinement. Then add the work-release assignment date, any supervising-agency entry, program completion, later court action, and final discharge. Four agencies can hold pieces of this sequence without contradicting one another.

The distinction is especially important when MNDOC is involved. An incarcerated Locator record may show an Anticipated Release Date, which is forward looking. A later “Assigned to Work Release as of” status describes program assignment. “Under Supervision as of” describes community supervision under DOC jurisdiction. Expiration Date is the sentence or jurisdiction endpoint. None should be silently rewritten as the others.

A county case can follow a different sequence. The Dodge order may create a stayed sentence or probation term, D&O may administer local conditions, and the work-release facility may manage the structured placement. Because Community Corrections offers several programs, agency involvement alone does not prove which one applies. Obtain the individual order and status.

Olmsted Work Release Changes

A placement can change after a court review, violation allegation, new warrant, transfer, or completion. A return to ADC or another custodian is not a new community release. A court entry may show the legal decision, while the operating agency records the physical change. Compare timestamps and scope when the records appear inconsistent.

Dodge maintains a selected Most Wanted page, and MNDOC maintains a separate supervision-fugitive search. Neither is a complete certificate that a person has no warrant, remains in work release, or completed supervision. A missing name proves little. Use the court file and the authority named in the current record for a person-specific result.

For a public-data request, keep the question narrow. Ask for the legal status and event dates that can be released, not confidential case-management notes. If access is denied, ask for the classification or order controlling that field. This approach respects limits while preserving the core question of whether the placement ended and what followed.
